July 30, 2008- A digraph is “a pair of letters representing a single speech sound, as ea in meat or th in path.” Makes sense: di- meaning ‘two’, and -graph meaning ‘something written or drawn’.
So how come a monograph is completely different? Shouldn’t a digraph be composed of two monographs?
