Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty

March 11, 2007

So, after an enjoyable week or so in Danmark, I find myself right back where I was before I left. Hopefully I’ll have something more substantive soon, but for the moment here is a “teaser”.

Elton

November 2, 2006

When I was little, I was afraid—terrified—of Elton John, because I’d seen this picture of him and he looked like some kind of horrible monster:

(The whole outfit is pretty awful, but I think it was the sunglasses that really did it.)

Wahoo

August 2, 2005

“Thoughts”, or Poetry by Committee

June 2, 2005

Secrets of the mind unwrapping in the freedom of a solitary moment giving hope in the memories of days foregone that might repeat themselves. But now I feel the moment . . . that my thoughts are my own, and to release them without restraint would be . . . like sending away a child, out into the world, without (paha henkkari) guidance to stand up to the storm with only a desperate prayer — let them make it and let what I gave them over the years be enough.

Have the power to bring down a government . . . or to form one. The elephant in the corner seems very small and insignificant, playing songs of glory and misfortune, of life and death, giving and sharing where sharing gives you so much more.
